Mascara Problems

I usually only wear mascara on a daily basis but every time I put it on my eyes become itchy and irritated. I've come to the conclusion that I'm allergic to mascara. Is there any good hypoallergenic mascara you know?

I had a similar issue, turns out it was the brand I was using that would irritate my eyes and even burn sometimes. I like using Tarte's lights, camera lashes. Not sure if it's hypoallergenic but I don't experience any itching or burning.

I had the same problem, but now I use Tarte lash paint everyday as the mineral pigments are non-irritating and stay put until washed off at the end of the day. I used to rub my eyes constantly and pick off other mascara, not anymore.

Re: Mascara Problems

Maybe try a tubing formula that won't flake or smudge into the eyes. Number 7 stay perfect mascara is my fave, but there is also Estée Lauder double wear mascara, Clinique long wear and L'Oréal beauty tubes available. I'm sure there are more too.

Rather than using traditional waxes and oils in the formulation, tubing mascaras make use of a special polymer which, as it dries, wraps itself around the entire surface of the eyelash. You can really build volume and length with tubing mascaras because they tend to apply as a wet formula, and as they dry they shrink-wrap themselves around the lash.

Re: Mascara Problems

@Anonymous Maybe you are allergic to some ingredients that are in mascara you are using right now. Instead try natural mascara like Josie Maran Argan Black Oil Mascara - I haven't tried it so I have no idea how good it is but if I had problem with irritation I would try natural mascaras. Quick google search should give you more options (I don't want to use outside links) Hope this helps!

RE: Mascara Problems

Honestly I'm not sure if any mascara I've used has mentioned 'hypoallergic' on the label mainly coz i didn't check. However I do have sensitive skin on my eyelids and maybelline and covergirl were killing me but Buxom waterproof and Up and Out by Estée Edit have not irritated me at all. You might want to check your eyeshadow and eyeliner too because I noticed my eyes would sometimes get itchy and dry based on those products as well.
