Liquid Eyeliner Smudgy & Sticky 🛑🚫🛑

How do I stop liquid eyeliner from smudging and becoming sticky? I’ve tried so many primers.

What eyeliners are you using? I've never had a liquid eye-liner get sticky. Smudgy is a different story. Maybe you could try a pencil? Some khol pencils can get quite crumbly and smudge a lot (like  URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Oil Slick), but there are some out there that are really good. If you'd rather just stick with a liquid eyeliner, I'll share my absolute favorite with you (it's from the drugstore!) 

Maybelline Eyestudio Hyper Easy Liquid Eyeliner *chefs kiss* this stuff is amazing. However if you're boujee af and would rather pick up something from Sephora, I hear that the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner Cuz I'm Black is amazing, but I can't vouch for it myself as I've never tried it. 

The nice thing about most liquid eyeliners (and the Maybelline one I recommended) is that they dry down really quick and some go quite matte. I do have one more trick for you, and its setting your eyeliner with eyeshadow. Using a skinny angled brush to press some black or espresso shadow over your eyeliner works the same as powdering your foundation and concealer. 

My next product recommendation may seem a bit odd, but it's my absolute favorite as an eye primer. TRèSTIQUE - Magic Mattifying Balm & Blotting Sheet Duo. It's a mattifying, blurring primer meant for the face, but it works amazing on the eyelid. It makes the eyelid so silky and helps prevent creases in my shadow. Since it's mattifying it might help you with your eyeliner. I recommend only using a little bit, too much will pill and crease.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I actually use our good sis RiRi’s make up and more specifically the fly liner. I was never able to apply liquid eyeliner or do wings but her fly liner is the truth!! ... But it gets sticky on top of my eyelids. I’ve tried so many liquid ones since but they all do the same. It may just be me. I’m absolutely gonna run out and get the eyeliner you recommended but before I do that I’ll try your suggestion of applying black eyeshadow on top of the liquid. You’re the best!

"our good sis RiRi" I love it 😂🙌 I'm wondering, do you have oily skin? Maybe that's why eyeliners are giving your a hard time. If that's the case, it should be a relatively easy fix. Since you like that Flyliner so much I'm tempted to give it a try! Happy makeuping!
