GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

I've been using GrandeLASH serum for about 10 weeks now and am beginning to notice my upper eyelids aree looking...sunken? If you look at the arrows I've drawn you can see a secondary sort of crease. Has anyone else experienced that side effect?! I've read it happens with Latisse and GrandeLASH has the same active ingredient, Prostaglandin, just in a smaller dose. Supposedly Prostaalandin shrinks the fat around the eye, leaving it "sunken" looking. (I say "supposedly" because there's no double blind study proving it yet there are tons of user testimonials online saying they've experienced the fat loss.) I mean, I'm not seeing things and I haven't made any other changes to my eye routine outside of this serum. I'm not sure if the creas bothers me...I've read it's irreversible and at this point if so I might as well keep using the serum and keep my lashes long.

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

This post is even older now that I'm seeing it, but the more information we have collectively the better, right? While I haven't delved deep into the science of it, I have used Grande Lash for just over a year. At first I just had the skin darkening around the eyelids as described in the side effects, but felt that it was still worth it...Although much later I started to notice deeper under eye grooves that I thought were quite noticeable even with concealer, and that's when I became concerned enough to throw in the towel. I can say that after discontinuing it, I no longer have any hyperpigmentation around my eyelids and it seems the fat loss was reversed too. So Im not sure how long you have to use it for it to be permanent but a year is a pretty long time to me. After that experience though, its just not worth it as there's plenty of alternatives for long lashes that won't mess with the actual chemistry of your body.

How long did it take to improve??xx

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

i used grande for a month or two and I also have the eyelid fat loss issue with a noticeable crease!  I’m so mad about it because my eyes have aged so much in so little time.  How long before the fat was restored for you?  It’s been about 5 months for me and still the same 😑

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

I had been using the serum for over 2 years. I started experiencing the orbital fat loss and the sunken eye look as well, but attributed that to getting older. Then my eyelids turned a reddish color and I realized that might be from the serum, so I stopped using it. I did some research and found out that it was all related. I stopped using it over 6 months ago and sadly other than my eyelashes going back to the way they were, nothing else has changed. Everything I am finding says its irreversible. I can't believe I've done this to myself. It has made me look so much older. I recommend you tell everyone you know. I did find tonight that there is a Class Action Lawsuit against GrandeLash. I do hope by some chance that things do improve for you.

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

I had the same experience with Grandelash and periorbital fat loss. How long after you discontinued it, did it take to reverse? I stopped it a month ago and it hasn’t gotten better.

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

Did yours get any better?? 😞 xx

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

Hey! I had the same experience after using for 6 weeks, I noticed extremely dark circles and eyelids and even the droopy lid. How long does it take to go back to normal? After discontinued

Re: GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

Heeey, do you have an update on this? I've been using lash serums for about 2 years now...

GrandeLASH sunken eyes?

Your lahes look stunning! My eyes have this issue narurally, so I wouldn't let it bother you. For makeup ideas, watch some YouTube videos with cut crease tutorials for hooded eyes. You can create the illusion of a higher crease with this method. NikkieTutorials is good for creating eye looks that use this technique.

Thank you! I'm shocked by how well this serum works!! I mean, at a fraction of the cost of Latisse a d the results have been pretty fast! I'm not really worried about the little crease because honestly I don't do a ton of eyeshadow. (I have a 3 year old and work from home so most of the time I just slap on mascara and liner and call it a day, LOL!) Plus I have a decent amount of "baby fat" on my face so I wonder if this would even be am issue for someone with none? 🙂 But honestly...I'll be be purchasing this. The crease isn't enough to detour me, I only noticed it after reading something about Latisse online and reading that ingredient is also in this serum- prostaglandin. Prostaglandin is what shrinks the fat and I was like "Huh...now that they mention it..." 😂

Hi,

I just want to say this product does have two very serious concerns, which are brushed off by the company. While Sephora staff are extremely knowledgable and professional, it is important to remember they are most often not involved in the medical field or research. GrandeLash CAN cause the fat cells around your eyes to stop metabolizing and therefore - yes, they do shrink and overtime will 'sink' your eyes. This is proven in the medical field as a side effect of prostaglandin. See here: https://www.reviewofophthalmology.com/article/pap-new-concerns-for-prostaglandin-use Moreover, the same ingredient CAN darken your eyes or cause spotting in light eyes. The dosage is so low in GrandeLash - that the effects of darkening eyes and "sunken eyes" is less dramatic, but it is still happening. I would be really careful before using this product - even though it works - honestly, finding a really well training and good lash stylist for light lash extensions is probably a better and safer bet. We just don't know what long term affects serums like this will have on our eyes.

I am wondering the Brow serum could have the same effects?
