Got a Stye, what do I need to toss?

I got a stye this week and I don’t know what I need to toss. The last makeup products I used around my eyes were eye primer, eyeshadow, mascara, and under eye concealer (it wasn’t really close to my eyelid where I have the stye but i did get somewhat close to the inner corner area but closer to my nose)

RE: Got a Stye, what do I need to toss?

Thank you guys so much!! My mascara was pretty close to being thrown out anyways and I have a few new mascaras that I got that I can’t wait to try out!! Unfortunately, both my eye primer/concealer have wands to dip back in. My eye primer I’m ok with tossing because it’s affordable. My concealer I *might* keep just because I didn’t apply that on to my eyelid where I have the stye just underneath (and I apply it right to wear glasses would typically sit). Tossing the makeup sponges that I used too and disinfecting the eyeshadow palette (brand new, first time I had used it)

Definitely toss the mascara. I agree with a poster below that if your primer and concealer are just products that you squeeze out, not dip in to and aren't crazy old, they are probably ok. The eyeshadow is chancey. You can try to disinfect it. But also if it's crazy old, might be time to throw in the towel.

If you haven't, make sure to clean & disinfect not only your makeup brushes, but also sheets and towels and I'd wipe down sunglasses/glasses if you have them, as well. I'm sorry you have to deal with it, they suck.

Weak sauce. How old is/was your mascara?

What is a Stye!?

Re: RE: Got a Stye, what do I need to toss?

A stye is a localised infection (caused by bacteria) that causes a tender bump to develop usually at the base of an eyelash or within one of the oil glands.

Thanks, hope this is healed!!

I would get rid of anything that you used on your eyes in the 24 hours before you noticed the stye and anything you have used since. That being said, if you normally put the primer and the concealer on the back of your hand before application (so you aren't putting anything back into the products that has touched your eye) then you might be able to keep those - otherwise it isn't worth the risk. Mascara is obviously out... if the eyeshadow was from a larger palette you could try spritzing it with alcohol. Any application brushes that you have used should be dipped in alcohol and then washed as you normally would.

Hope you feel better soon!

Maybe any new different products that you normally don’t use
