Eyeshadow fallout

I can't seem to do my smoky eye without all the eye shadows falling on my under eyes and face...grrrr 😊 Any helpful tips?

Re: Eyeshadow fallout

I have this problem too. Usually I combat this by doing all of my eye makeup before my face makeup. I gently dab away any loose eyeshadow with a tissue (you don't want to smear the fallout around). Then I cover up the rest with my foundation and concealer. I don't usually have a lot of time to do my makeup, so this is my quick-fix.

I've heard of some weird hacks that help too, such as:

1. Covering your under eye area with scotch tape. To make the tape less sticky (so it doesn't hurt when you pull the tape off of your face) you can apply it on your arm or your tee shirt and rip if off a few times until it feels sticky enough to stay on your face but not sticky enough to pull on your skin. All of the fallout will go on the tape, so when you pull the tape off, you'll have a clean face.

2. If you do your face makeup and want to avoid eyeshadow fallout, apply a lot of loose powder under your eyes with a big fluffy brush before applying eyeshadow. By doing this, the fallout is actually falling on the powder, not your skin. When you're done with makeup, brush away the excess powder with the fluffy brush.

Thank you 😊

Hi BluFoxx,

Prior to starting your apply the brush to your skin have you been tapping the extra off of the brush? Also, be sure to use an eyeshadow primer. Urban Decay's my fav 🙂

RE: Re: Eyeshadow fallout

Yep, UD Primer is the best. I'm kind of scatter brained when doing my makeup and don't have much patience, guess I need a little more 😄 Thank you

It's tough to prevent all fallout, even when using an eyelid primer. For that reason, when applying makeup, I start with my eyes. I then use makeup remover to wipe away any fallout from under my eyes and continue with makeup application to the rest of my face. If you try it, please let me know how it goes.
