Eyeshadow creasing! What am I doing wrong!!!

Please help! I cannot get my eyeshadow to last all day it creases and disappears. I typically use urban decay, lorac or Mac eyeshadow. Along with urban decay primer potion which is 3 yrs old and it was creasing and getting separated so I figured it’s too old. So I just bought NARS eye primer (also Just tried smashbox from my ipsy) and they all are creasing and oily and shadow only in the eye lines (eye lines? Crease? Idk I’m 26 so not wrinkles it just all goes to one spot). anyone have any tips?

Use an eyeshadow primer on top of your concealer and set with translucent powder. Then, go in with your eyeshadows.

I have this problem to the extreme! Along with hooded eyes, my lids are so oily! Here are all the crazy steps I take Step 1: I put a little bit of the MUFE mattifying primer on my lids Step 2: I use the lemon Aid eye primer from benefit! It’s the best for oily lids! Step 3: setting powder I use the urban decay mattifying powder Step 4: I apply the stila stay all day eye smudge stick all over my lid and then set with powder again! I know it’s crazy steps, but even if I miss one of these I have oily lids in like 3 hours! With these steps it lasts like 8 hours lol I have tried every eyeliner brand and primer. Stila and eyeko liners are the only ones that don’t crease! The mufe ones are a close second!

In addition to setting your primer, I also use glitter glue for all my shimmer shadows. I don't have oily lids but I do have hooded eyes and for me the issue is shimmer transferring onto a upper lid. Since I started using Too Faced glitter glue this never happens. Life Changing!

I didn't even know this was a thing! I don't wear glitter/super shimmery, but my daughter does, so this is super exciting!

My eyelids are oily too and the only primer I've tried that works for me is Urban Decay.  I haven't tried the NARS one but I agree with the other posts.  Regardless of which one you end up using you need to set it with setting powder or an eyeshadow that matches your skin tone (I always use the shade "vanilla" from my Anastasia Beverly Hills powder contour kit).  Make sure you use a big fluffy brush and make sure the powder isn't super dense/pigmented.  Sometimes I'll try a different shadow to set my lids and if the formula is wrong it looks chunky on top of the primer.  You want something light and finely milled.  Good luck and let us know if this helps!!  🙂

@Anonymous, I have oily and hooded lids and what's worked for me is taking a tissue and gently wiping away the oil from my lids prior to applying the primer. Then, like others have suggested, set my primer with an eyeshadow shade that closely matches my skin tone (or translucent powder). Hope that helps and good luck!

Re: Eyeshadow creasing! What am I doing wrong!!!

I'm not exactly an expert but try applying a loose translucent setting powder to your eyelids after u apply an eyeshadow primer, or u could also try using any concealer and applying a little bit to your eyelids, blend that out, then apply a loose translucent powder.

I second that, use a lid primer, I happen to like nars, just got it and love it, but set it with a translucent powder. I happen to like Laura mercier
