Eyeshadow Primer

Has anyone used an eyeshadow primer before and notice a difference in how long shadows last? Any recommended primers?! Thnx!!

I absolutely have to use eye primer everyday, my eyelids get oily very fast and shadow will slide into the crease in a heartbeat. Primer makes all the difference! It not only stops the oil slick but also prevents colors from fading. I like the formulas of Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance but prefer the latter because I would rather use my fingers than a doe foot applicator.

@monicag33 I've used many shadow primers and by far my favorite is Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It helps colors apply stronger and helps them to last longer. another thing that helps, before applying the color you want on your lids, prime them and then brush over them with a nutral skin color shadow. it helps your colored shadow application and its longevity

I have oily lids so my eye makeup never stays on. The only thing that has worked for me is Urban Decay's Primer Potion. It's actually the best selling eye primer at Sephora. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. So long to the days of eye makeup smearing and smudging. Use it and let me know what you think!

I use to use shape tape, so I bought the shape tape eye shadow primer stick that just came out and it's my favorite so far.

I use Too Faced Glitter Glue as my everyday eyelid primer.  It holds on to everything!

You should try the NARS Smudge-Proof eyeshadow primer! I love it so much and I've been using it for years!

@monicag33 - I have oily, hooded Asian lids, and the best primer I've ever used is the $2 ELF Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer.

I've used the Too Faced and Urban Decay primers, but ELF beats them both. I liked the thin texture of the TF, but my eyeshadow would start creasing sooner than both the UD & ELF. The UD primer had good lasting power, but I didn't like the thick texture. It also made it harder to blend my eyeshadows properly. The ELF primer is thin, blended my shadows really nicely (even better than the TF), and had great lasting power 8+hrs.

The only thing w/ the ELF primer is that it sets fast. It won't budge once it sets, so you'll have to prime 1 eye at a time.
