Any recommendations on a good lid primer?? Especially since it will be a long day and night waiting for new years!
I used to use the UD Primer in Eden (it's Matte with a skin/flesh tone color). Sin from UD is a shimmer, it's pretty but I don't find it works as well as Eden. Also MAC Paint Pot in Sort Ochare or Painterly works great! Technically they aren't a primer, they are cream eyeshadows but they work AMAZING as a primer and that's what people generally use them for, they are thicker consistency. I can honestly say I have fallen asleep (naps) with both and my eyeshadow hadn't budged or creased. But recently I have been using concealer as a base since I usually carve out my brows. Tarte Shape Tape works AMAZING, so does UD Naked and NARS cream radiant concealers. Whichever you decide to go with, make sure you set it with a light dusting of translucent powder or a white (or light neutral eyeshadow). It will make a HUGE difference. Keep us updated and let us know what you ended up liking and using.
Mac paint pots are my holy grail. Only thing I own from there! I have hooded, oily eyelids. This stuff doesn't budge! I tried the Urban decay ones, smash box. Paint pots (in painterly or ochre) are my jam? Happy New Year!
If your really looking for specifically an eyeshadow primer, the urban decay one is great, along with the laura mercier one it was a bit of a orange tint to it but after eyeshadow is not noticable. However I've found after doing my brows (bc i do them before any other step of makeup) after i conceal them i blend the concealer down to my lid and it makes for a great primer, tartes shape tape is great for that and nars creamy concealer.
Ok cool. I live in west Texas lol one day it's 12 degrees, the next can be 80 degrees! Lol
I have heard about NARS is it expensive?
Good to know!!
I’ve done extensive research since I’m allergic to so many eyeshadow primers.
If you have sensitive eyelids like me, avoid too faced and UD primers.
I recommend NARS or tarte primer 🙂
Ok thank u, I haven't been allergic to any so far but I will take your advice in case I do ever get a reaction.
Really, Wow that's good stuff then lol?!
@Anonymous I use Urban Decay eyeshadow primer at the office. However, when I know I’ll have a long night out, I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance instead. I find it more reliable when my lids get oily.
As well, I highly recommend applying your eyeshadow with a good setting spray (spray your brush just before pressing the shadow onto your lid). Not only will the colours pop even more, you’ll be getting extra hold and protection from creasing 🙂
And I do use a setting spray so I will definitely try this!
Thank u
I have been using Urban Decay primer potion in Sin. It works well as a primer and to highlight the inner eye.
Awesome thank u!
