Eyelash Curler

Looking to purchase an eyelash curler.. debating between the Shu Uemura and the Tweezerman. Eyes are almond-shaped with average length but VERY straight lashes. Which curler is better and has results that will last the longest?

Thanks!

RE: Eyelash Curler

I have both and find the tweezerman to be wider so it includes more lashes. Plus I love the rose gold color. Got it from dermstore with a coupon making it only 9$!

Re: Eyelash Curler

I've tried both. Don't have almond shaped eyes but have large eyes with straight lashes. Shu worked the best initially but didn't work as well in the long run as the Tweezerman. The Tweezerman lasts a longtime and produces the same results. Shu did give me better curl with WOW lashes but had to buy several in a years time.

Re: Eyelash Curler

I am Eurasian and my eyes are almond-shaped and long with straight lashes.  A lot of eyelash curlers seem to be designed for non-Asian eyes.  I used the Shu Uemura eyelash curler for years (it was far better than the Shiseido curler in my opinion) but the brand tests on animals so I stopped.  I was really happy to find that Kevyn Aucoin's eyelash curler worked for me - did not pinch, captured all of my lashes, and left me with a decent curl rather than some weird kink.  Aucoin is cruelty-free and available at Sephora.  I do think though that you should try any eyelash curler before buying it.

I can't speak for either of those 2 brands, but I really like the Shiseido curler. It curls really easily and it does not create those harsh kinks in your lashes. I've been using it for almost 10 years!

I used to swear by shu Umera however it was amazing in the beginning but has taken a few lashes towards the end!

I have never tried those, but Tarte currently has an eye curler set, its pretty nice and it also comes with a great mascara!

Re: Eyelash Curler

I also have almond-shaped eyes and straight lashes, and the Shu Uemura wasn't my favorite either.  I haven't tried the Tweezerman, but I am liking the Utowa one a lot.  The shape is perfect for my eyes and it works really nicely.  I purchased it from Violet Grey.

Re: Eyelash Curler

I'm Asian with almost shaped eyes and the Shu Uemura was highly recommended to me by a Sephora rep.  I had to bring it back because it just didn't fit my eye shape.  So it tried the newer Shu...the smaller version because it was supposed to curl smaller sections at a time. but I brought that back too because the pad popped out and they don't give you a replacement.  I settled on the Tweezerman option for almond shaped eyes and I must say, I can't complain.  it fits my eye shape well.
