Eye Shadow That Works As Eyeliner

Hello, I've tried dozens of liquid & pencil eyeliners over the years & haven't found anything I'm happy with, so now I'm thinking of using an eye shadow as an eyeliner. What I'm after is a smudged look & something with a little shimmer/sparkle. Nothing too drastic because I'm a senior & don't want to look garish. Would appreciate so much suggestions on an eye shadow & a good brush to apply it.

Honest to the make up gods above...this is what I use almost daily: 

Use an angled eyeliner brush, get some shadow on it, I use the one above (Sephora collection "Queen for a Day) then spray your brush with MAC Fix + and apply like liner. It lasts me 10 hours.

@gjvalleygirl The last time I was looking for shadow liners, Bare Minerals had a wide variety that were suitable.  But really, you should be able to use any eye shadow out there.  If you need more color pay-off, you can wet the brush.  Sephora has a ton of liner brushes.  I guess it depends on your preference.

@gjvalleygirl ColourPop Super Shock Shadows work FANTASTIC as eyeliners. I use an angled brush and apply it to my lash line. If you wanted to smudge it out you could use a tightly packed smugder brush too, or just your finger. There are like 100 colors and a lot have some shimmer/sparkle to them. $5 each too, so you can pick up a few shades and not break the bank.
