Eye Makeup for Glasses

Can we start a thread of glasses makeup? I love my glasses, but wonder about fake lashes, ways to still make eyes pop, best ways to manipulate elegant n everyday, etc.

A easy soft makeup look with Sweet Peach eye palette and Stila liquid eyeliner in dark brown to help draw attention to the eyes. Bite's Liquid lipstick in Whip on lips. IMG_2143.JPG

Pink with glasses!!! Using the Smashbox Photo Edit Trio in Pic Me with Natasha Denona’s Darya and Rayo. I recently discovered Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place lip liners...and 😍😍😍😍 Mauve is now my Holy Grail!!! Also have some Cover FX Glitter Drops in Mirage all over my décolletage.

@darlyndar  absolutely adore this look!!  so much glitter and highlight.  LOVE. You looking stunning.  What blush are you using?  : )

RE: Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

@Anonymous I’m using Natasha Denona’s Diamond & Blush palette in Darya and her Duo Glow Highlight in Rayo. And thank you! I love glowing. 💗💗💗

Love those glasses on you @darlyndar

Re: Eye Makeup for Glasses

Ok, this thread is great because it's prodding my lazy asteroid back to the optometrist! I went to Costco today to look at frames:Check out that glare! Always order anti-reflective coatings, kids...Check out that glare! Always order anti-reflective coatings, kids...

I've been ruminating on glasses-makeup more lately and thinking "you know, I've never really been into eyeshadows until this past year, I've always cared more about liners"... but now I'm realizing anew that yeah, I wear glasses and have hooded eyes, why on earth would I waste money on eyeshadow? 🤓

I gotta get back to my roots. This metallic blue Nars Kohliner is terrific; I need to quit pining over shadow palettes and just get a new fistful of cream shadow sticks. 🎨

RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

Well my eyes are so bad that when I take my contacts out I can’t even see to put makeup on so...

RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

What lashes does everyone wear with their glasses that don’t hit thelense? I ca only use KoKo Lashes in Misha or individual lashes. I do use RevitaLash daily, so my natural lashes have a good amount of length and volume. I just love falsies and the way they bring every eye-look together!

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

@darlyndar this is something that I struggle with! I love my glasses and I love wearing long/dramatic lashes but I never wear the two together because they always hit the lens. Are there any other lashes you recommend? (I guess it also depends on the type of glasses I'm wearing and where it sits on my nose!) I thought about individual lashes but it always takes awhile for me to apply them and they hardly ever come out right!

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

@darlyndar Truthfully, this is a problem I've never actually solved. I'm blessed with great natural lashes so I just put a lot of energy into finding dramatic/volumizing mascaras that really work well for me.

Second pair are in...and I’m in LOVE! Update: I’ve been wearing this prescription for a week and am 90% comfortable. I’m still not able to drive with them on. Things just look too weird. But for everyday life...it’s perfection. I also noticed my eyes aren’t red all the time anymore I’m assuming it’s because I don’t have to strain them in order to see and read. Lol

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

@darlyndar both glasses looking AMAZING on you!!

RE: Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

Thank you @DaneeBT!!!! I get mixed reviews. Lol. People either love or hate them. I’ve also gotten, “Those are interesting” quite a few times! I’m in love. They’re so much fun!

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

@darlyndar Love these! 💛

RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

Ok! First pair of glasses are in! They said my other pair should be arriving tonight or tomorrow. @fieldsofclover Question: How long did it take for your eyes to adjust? I feel dizzy. Lol. My depth perception is off. I realize I have a strong prescription in one eye but it feels extremely weird. I can’t imagine what it will be like with contacts! I definitely know I won’t be able to wear them all day. 😩😩😩

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

@darlyndarYou look amazing!!! 🤩😍

Yes it will definitely take you a little while to adjust... you'll probably feel like you're constantly walking up a hill for a few days, at the very least. Your brain has to get used to how it calculates depth perception (and everything else), now that it has so much more information to work with!  🤓

You will feel the urge to take them off a lot, because your actual eye muscles are getting an actual physical workout right now too... the fatigue of it is not in your imagination. But the more you switch between your "old" prescription (nothing) and your current one, the longer it will take to adjust to them, especially since one side is stronger than the other. So take the break, but try to do it when you can close your eyes altogether for a few minutes and give yerself a little eyeball massage. Just wearing them around the house for as long as possible, then wearing them at work, will help you adjust to driving with them on (or you might actually find driving is easier at first than just walking around... depends on how your brain is putting it all together).

The depth perception thing is totally normal, though. Think of it as that part of your brain is having to wake up and go to the gym for a few days even though it doesn't want to. It's adapting to its new routine, but it will get on board soon enough since you keep making it do the work 😂

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

It usually takes me up to 3 weeks to get accustomed to new glasses. Also, if the pupillary distance on them is even the tiniest bit off, I’ll get headaches. If you end up having any trouble getting used to a pair, head back to where you got them.

Contacts, despite that they’ll get dry sometimes, are so much easier for my eyes to adjust to.

Those glasses are super cute, and big lenses are the best! @darlyndar

Re: RE: Eye Makeup for Glasses

Is the Pupillary distance the black dot they drew on the lenses before they sent it out? He had me look straight and made two marks. @ClassicallyFab
