EYESHADOW SENSITIVE

HELP!  My eyes have become sensitive to eyeshadow!  I've been using Clinique and even they make my eyes burn.  I especially can't line my eyes with shadow anymore.  I need a shadow that won't make my eyes burn and an eye pencil that won't give me raccoon eyes.

@mamajennie Are you reacting to particular eyeshadows, (especially similar color families), or reacting to every eyeshadow you own? If it's particular colors that are causing you distress, it may be the case that you've developed a sensitivity to a pigment ingredient they have in common. (Red dyes, for example, are especially common for this.) On the other hand, if you're reacting to all of your shadows, it might be a common eyeshadow binder that's the cause, or perhaps even your primer.

Whichever of these is the case, I suggest checking the shadows that irritate you, and making a list of ingredients they have in common. Your doctor can also do patch tests for those ingredients to determine which of them is the culprit.

@mamajennie have you tried bare minerals or Burt's bees makeup? Those are great for sensitive eyes

I have not. I didn't even know Burt's Bees had eyeshadow.

 I am in the same predicament.
