Is it necessary to buy a high end eyelash curler?! Any reccomendations for high end or low end? Thanks in advance!!

@SportyGirly125 and others Which one of the two you like the best? These were on my shortlist Shiseido, Shu Umera & Surrat Beauty and need to bring it down to one 🙂 to buy.

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

@naturalooks15 If I had to choose I would get Shu Uemura.

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

@spunkysegal I think it really doesn't matter the cost as long as it does the job.  I have been using a plastic eyelash curlers for years that I get from Amazon for $10.  I also have a Shu Uemura one and SURRATT BEAUTY - Relevée Lash Curler.

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

I may be different, but the cheap ones didn't work well and always scared me they'd pull my lashes out! I tried quite a few and when I tried the Shu Umera one, fell in love. I've had it for years now and you can change out the rubber piece so I think it's well worth it. 🙂

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

I've tried what feels like a zillion lash curlers and none work better for my deep set eyes than the Sephora XL curler. It's on sale now too (actually it seems to always be on sale).  I got a couple of them so when they wear out I can just use a new one.

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

@spunkysegal I think more important than price is to find an eyelash curler that matches the shape of your eyes. I have flatter (as opposed to rounder) Asian eyes, and the Shiseido eyelash curler suits me well.

Edit with photo example. The Sephora Collection curler on the right is a bit more curved, and I would have to press the curler pretty tightly against my face to reach my tiny lashes, and I would probably only be able to reach small sections at a time, which is definitely not ideal.

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

@txcatx , @k617 , @spunkysegal Second and third the greater importance of the curler fitting the shape of your eyes! I'm a Shiseido curler girl as well, though I do have a Shu as well (just a smidge too curved, but it will do in a pinch 🙂 I actually picked up the Surratt curler based on the amazing reviews, but sadly, it was too short and too flat! I'm like freaking Goldilocks here 🙂

Also something to look at is how hard the silicone pads are and DO NOT curl when your mascara is wet 🙂

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

I was going to say the same thing, @txcatx! I would be completely fine with a $5 curler if I could find one that matched my eye shape well. Sadly, only the Shiseido and Shu Uemura ones fit my eye shape without pinching my lids or crimping my lashes.

I also prefer curlers that have replacement curler pads available for purchase. The Shiseido ones do, and that is my HG curler as well. I just recently replaced my curler after probably 5+ years when I started to notice that even with a fresh pad, my lashes weren't curling properly.

Re: EYELASH CURLERS!

@k617 I tortured myself with too many eyelash curlers that didn't match my face and eye shapes for a good decade or so because I didn't know any better. That eyelid pinch really hurts! My solution for a couple of years was using the tiny Shu Uemura curler to curl small sections at a time, and then I finally discovered that the Shiseido curler was perfect for me.
