Crusty Under eyes

Hello everyone, I'm having an issue with concealers. Every brand I've tried still leaves my under eye dry and cracked. I use moisturizer regularly. I dont have any other makeup issues but the horrible under eye cracks and wrinkles makes me look like a disaster. At the moment i use tarte tape concealer. i apply it with my ring finger. i dont/cant use powder. I'm at my wits end. Please help with any tips on how to smooth out the concealer on my delicate under eyes. TIA

Pretty Vulgar has the most hydrating concealer its amazing and is full coverage I highly recommend it!

Re: Crusty Under eyes

@Anonymous Seems like you have dry undereyes. Giving them the proper hydration will help alleviate all that. After I was my face, I apply a lightweight eye cream (Whamisa Chai Tea Eye Cream $25), let that sink in for about 3 minutes, and repeat up to 4 times. It seems like a lot, but you WILL see results. Your fine lines will plump and creases will be visibly smaller. Lastly, I apply Ole Henriksen’s Banana Bright Eye Cream. This product has a yellow tint that instantly brightens. It’s also a primer for concealer. I absolutely love this. Not being able to set your undereyes will eventually make your concealer crease. Tarte is good since it dries down completely. Another is UD All-Nighter concealer. Stay away from anything too creamy.

Thank you for answering. Do you think creams for the under eyes is better than the oils?

Re: Crusty Under eyes

@Anonymous If you don’t use powder to set them, yes. Oils will not dry down completely and make your concealer move around and sink into fine lines.

Re: Crusty Under eyes

@Anonymous I’m 37 and used to have a lot of fine lines. After I started layering my eye cream, my eyes now look like this. No filter, natural sunlight.

Re: Crusty Under eyes

@Anonymous Immediately or after an hour or so? There’s no way for you to set them?

If you live close to a Sephora store, I would go in and request that the representatives assist you by applying some products and providing you with some samples. As you have seen, some concealers and/or color correctors work well on some but not on others. I have a couple of faint veins under my eyes that I cover with Benefit Cosmetics Boiing concealer. The under eye concealer is so pigmented that just a light pat of the concealer covers but does not crease or crust. Bye Bye Under Eye works well too as long as you apply a minimal amount. The application of too much corrector/concealer will crease and cake.
