Concealer tips ‼️‼️

Next month I have an event to attend, and I will be professionally photographed. I want to make sure my makeup is PERFECT, but especially my under eye routine.

I have combination skin that leans more oily, but in colder months certain parts of my face get dry. Especially my eye area. As of recently my concealer has been coming out creasy, cakey, and sometimes even dry looking.

I don’t think the concealer is the problem, I have tried multiple concealers (Tower 28, Natasha Denona, Haus Labs, etc) using the same blending methods and they all have the same results.

I think the problem could be my under eye prep, color corrector (Huda Beauty), or maybe even the blending technique.

Any tips or product recommendations are greatly appreciated. I’m trying to figure this out before next month! 😅

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

@ShaydaJade My skin care and prep is fairly minimal which can actually help makeup lay better. If you have too many products or too much product, they tend to not play nice together. After cleansing, I use a toner/exfoliant, eye serum, eye cream, facial serum, moisturizer, primer/SPF then start my makeup application. The concealer I use Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Medium to Full Coverage Radiant Concealer with Hyaluronic Acid 1 and I use the SEPHORA COLLECTION Essential Brush - 02 Concealer to blend. I know the “rule” is foundation first, then conceal, but I actually do my under eye first then foundation. I’m not a massive fan of how foundation looks on my skin when I use a brush, so I either use a beauty blender or just my fingers, and don’t put any more product over under my eyes or under my concealer except for the little bit to blend. To set, I use Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Translucent with a triangle puff and gently pat.

Hope that’s somewhat helpful!

@ShaydaJade @What skincare products are you using?

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

Not at the moment, but any product recommendations and how to apply would be amazing!

I tried using the Innisfree eye serum but found it didn’t really do anything, and might have even caused it to look even more cakey

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

Yes I apply my skin care beforehand, and try to let it dry for a few minutes as well 😁

As for my concealer, I add just enough to cover up my dark circles + some color corrector. Usually 2-3 dots of concealer

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

@ShaydaJade @Are you using skincare catered to your skin type?

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

@ShaydaJade Do you use a lot of concealer?  Do you wait to put on makeup after your skin care has been applied?

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

The Inkey list hydro barrier serum, Ilia face base milk, and the Laneige water bank gel cream.

Re: Concealer tips ‼️‼️

@ShaydaJade do you use an eye cream?
