Brushes

Does anyone have suggestions about which brand of eyeshadow brush I should get? I want really good ones that don't cost that much.

Toraway 7PC Makeup Brushes Horse Hair Eyeshadow Cosmetic Foundation Makeup Brushes (Black) on Amazon. Great value! Horse hair works better for powder eyeshadows. Synthetic brushes work better for cream eyeshadows.

RE: Brushes

My fav are Paula Dorf shadow or Mac 140 ( though if it’s new Mac made in China)... Id pass and I’d Go and get Sephora Pro- grey handles unless they changed colours... they are great. Always best if you can go and feel them out, applies to any brushes. Bonnea Fortuna!

RE: Brushes

Truly, I am a makeup artist for many years. I started collecting MUB for many, many years ago! I have about (min) 20 diff brands like Bobbi Brown, Kevin Aucoin, MUF, Stila...etc... and more expensive than those. I actually love Sephora Prof brushes, any old Mac, (when they were made in France, which are hard to find) as the ones made in China, they shed hairs-which I hate and you just can’t start picking hairs off a clients face... I hate Mac brushes. So, you see in pics on right hand side... the two Sephora Pro... those, then I’d choose... the few others I have in picture... Stila, Paula Dorf, Shu Eumera brushes!! But Sephora Pro grey handles are fantastic!! I don’t know your budget but I’ve been a makeup artist for many years now and am blessed I can afford the ones I want. Oh, I used to ask for makeup brushes as my birthday gifts..etc...good way to start a collection. I’m not familiar with some others mentioned they may be great, too. I’d say only buy the Sephora Prof if you can, as the others I’ve bought were def not as good. The Sephora have to be the Prof ones.... they are the ones with the grey handles. They never shed hair- and are soft, wonderful. They are manufactured by a very expensive brand, no one really knows that, I forget which, but you’d be shocked and pleased!! They are not cheap so again at first when I started, I would buy one or two at most, at a time. Depends on your budget but I’d rather save and get one or two good ones as opposed to lousy ones you’ll hate and wind up throwing out... oh, surprising as they are pretty reasonable ( that’s relative obviously) but my friend has Ecco brushes in Canada not sure if sold in us but Amazon has them.... and they are pretty good. Bonne Chance, cheri! 🙂

RE: Brushes

Thank you so much! I will definitely check out all the brands 😊

Re: Brushes

Morphe brushes are really nice and they frequently have sales online. They also won't break the bank which is a plus!

RE: Brushes

Bhcosmetics has great makeup brushes and they always have deals! I got a 36 pc set for about $30 and they're good quality.

Re: Brushes

I think it depends on how cheap you want to go and where you want to shop. Drugstore I'd say Elf brushes are pretty good for the price. I also like Morphe brushes a lot and they are cheap. The Sephora brand brushes are good too but a little pricier. A lot of the higher end brushes are pretty similar and cost a lot per brush. Japonesque is so-so and pricier. A lot of people love the Real Techniques brushes but honestly I think Elf, Sigma, Morphe feel better and perform better and are so affordable. MAC brushes are nice but are also pricier.

RE: Brushes

I first started off with the Sephora brand brushes. You can buy them as a set for better savings. Try their Smoky Eye Brush set. It also comes with a guide to apply a smoky eye look.

I love Elf brushes lol. I use them more than my higher end brushes.
