Blending Shadow Over Scar???

Hello everyone! So I have a scar on my right eyelid that continues up into my crease a bit. My eyeshadow will not stick to that part of my eye. I currently prime my lids with concealer, set it with powder, then blend out my shadows. That one part won't blend or stick no matter how much I try to blend or add. Does anyone have any tips or struggle with the same thing?? New product suggestions or application tips would be awesome!! Thank you! 🙂

RE: Blending Shadow Over Scar???

Try not setting the concealer with a powder, just make sure to blend the concealer by patting down with a brush rather than a sponge and try not to move in different directions, only Pat. I’ve found that it not only enhances the pigmentation of colors but it lasts longer. Maybe that will help for it not to move where you have your scar!

I never thought about that! That’s a good idea. I also have been blending with a sponge and my shadows lack true pigment. Thank you so much! I will def try that!!❤️

Re: Blending Shadow Over Scar???

I recently discovered the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid primer, which really does an amazing job and shadows stick to it for good. I am the owner of very wrinkly and oily eyelids from which shadows will melt down instantly if not primed. So when a primer works well, I notice it. BTW, this Smashbox primer is opaque (unlike most primers) and can serve as concealer too. It comes in 3 shades -- light nude , dark nude and pure white, that can be used as a base for bright colors.  I had a hard time deciding between light nude and white because I am a color junkie and wear a lot of brights. I grabbed light nude in the end, but  probably I will grab the white one too.

@rachturk28 Try priming your lids (or just that area) with a shadow primer. I have a small scar on my eyelid (waxing mishap) and the urban decay anti aging primer is really the only way i can get shadow to look right in that spot. I have tried other primers that work okay, Mac 24 hour extend eye base is also good.
