@scrappingqueen For the upper orbital area, I've been using FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream with Triple Hyaluronic Acid. I experienced a little dryness at first, but just took it slow and made sure to use my usual moisturizer.
I agree that the DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE - Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serumis also a good one - nice and gentle. I've read that it can be used on the eye lid. I was curious, so I just starting using it there twice a week. I had only very minimal dryness at first. Tagging a couple BICers who are known to be fans, to ask if they've used it on the eye lids and, if so, what their experiences have been: @WinglessOne@GG84 Thanks!
@greeneyedgirl107@scrappingqueen I’ve tried the DDG eye serum on my lids a couple times. It was fine on my skin but irritated my eyes a bit. Then again, many things irritate my weirdly sensitive eyes, including many facial oil (the only ones I can use around my eyes are e.l.f. Nourishing Facial Oil and Herbivore Emerald CBD Oil), so the DDG serum might work fine for you above your eyes. 🙂
My much better experience with this serum has been under my eyes, with no eye or skin irritation:
Honestly, the best “fix” for wrinkled and/or sagging eyelids involves a dermatologist and either surgery, injectables, a clinical strength peel, or laser treatment. An OTC product containing retinol (in a percentage low enough to be safe on your upper eye area) can help, but don’t expect surgical/injectable/laser results from any OTC product.
One way to prevent some new wrinkles is sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30. Even those of us who use sunscreen daily (like we all should) often don’t apply it to our brow bones and eyelids, but we should. Many mineral and chemical sunscreens hurt my eyes when applied anywhere around them; so far, the only one that doesn’t is SUPERGOOP! - Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40. Supergoop also makes a sunscreen eyeshadow I haven’t tried: SUPERGOOP! - Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow SPF 30. This reminds me to pick one up and give it a shot.
Oh, and assuming you’re in the US: sometimes you can find a DS of the DDG eye serum in Sephora Play boxes available for individual sale (instead of subscription). There might still be some Play boxes in the sale section that contain this serum.
@WinglessOne Thanks so much for the detailed reply!
Funny you mentioned the DDG in the the Play! box - b/c that's exactly where I picked it up! Got a box on sale for $8 with that, and a few other products I wanted to try.
@greeneyedgirl107 My latest restock of the DDG serum was through the $8 Play boxes. 🙂 One full size serum is 15 mL at $69, but the Play box contained a 5 mL DS. I bought 3 Play boxes to get 15 mL for just $24. So @scrappingqueen definitely keep an eye out for Play boxes in the sale section—not just for this serum (if you decide to try it), but for various things. Sometimes 2 or 3 Play boxes are a better deal than buying a full sized item.
