IT Cosmetics CC Cream Oxidizing?

I just picked up some IT Cosmetics “Your Skin But Better” CC Cream in the lightest shade and it goes on the perfect color, then oxidizes on my skin to about a shade and a half too dark. What primers do you guys use with this to keep it from oxidizing?

I prep my face my using First Aid Beauty Facial Cleanser followed by the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (for face and other areas). I’ve heard silicone primers can be a nightmare for dry skin and humid climates (I live in Florida where the air is made of soup). But I’ve also heard a silicone primer is the best to prevent oxidizing. What should I do? I LOVE the texture/coverage of this CC Cream and the thought of having to return it due to the oxidization makes me so sad. Any tips to keep it true to color?

Re: IT Cosmetics CC Cream Oxidizing?

It oxidized like CRAZY on me. Like, two shades too dark. I returned it immediately, there are so many better CC creams and light coverage foundations out there that it wasn't worth my efforts to try to make this one work.

@M011y1995 I'm a little baffled and sorry to hear that you're having this problem!! I have used this for over 3 years and have never had a problem with it oxidizing! I should also mention that I usually don't wear a primer underneath, just moisturizer. Have you tried it just by itself, with nothing underneath it? Sometimes there are certain products that just don't mix well with each other.

Re: IT Cosmetics CC Cream Oxidizing?

I figured out what the problem was :)! I was a little surprised about it oxidizing, too, since literally no one on the Internet has seem to have had an issue with that in regards to this product!

I took a month long break from putting anything on my face besides plain water because *something* was giving me rashes on my cheeks. I never found out what was causing the rashes so I went back to wearing makeup and applying moisturizer. I bought new (hypoallergenic) moisturizer when I bought this CC Cream but when I got home it was open with a finger dig out of it. So I didn’t put it on before the CC Cream. My skin was SO dry it must’ve absorbed all the moisture out of the CC Cream and made it react strangely.

The very next day I went to Sephora to exchange the open moisturizer and look for a lighter CC Cream shade (I thought maybe I’d grabbed the second lightest shade by accident). Wound up keeping the CC Cream I’d bought and then I went home and used my new moisturizer before bed and again in the morning. Applied the CC Cream after that and I haven’t had any more issues with it oxidizing 🙂

This is now my favorite “foundation” of all time. It covers my redness, matches my skin tone, I don’t look cakey, and the coverage isn’t “over the top”. This is the only foundation I’ve ever worn where I’m comfortable not contouring/highlighting/doing eyeshadow to bring some life back to my skin. It’s just enough coverage to mask the redness without washing me out. Awesome for daily wear, and then I still have the option to do all that other makeup on top when I want to look glam!

I confess I haven’t had this problem but I don’t use a primer or cream under it.  I also live in Michigan.   Maybe it’s the cream/primer underneath?

Re: IT Cosmetics CC Cream Oxidizing?

Figured it out! It was because I had nothing on underneath and my skin was WAY too dry when I put it on- so dry it probably absorbed all the moisture out of the CC cream and made it oook weird. I had just taken a month long break from anything on my face besides plain water. I moisturized before trying it again (to bring some life back to my skin) and it looks perfect now!
