16098085055338832949009729743480.jpgHi!! I can really use some help on how to get rid of these dry patches on my face ๐Ÿฅบ. They recently just started forming and I have tried a few things but it hasn't helped.

Has anyone experienced this before? I do live in the midwest and the cold weather could have played a part in it. However, this has never happened before and it looks even worse when I attempt to put make-up on.

Thank you in advance!

Re: Dry patches on face: help!

Hi @Wendi33 ! Couple questions:

  1. What's your current skincare routine (brand + product names)?
  2. What things have you already tried to address the dry patches?

To help those patches heal, try a thick petrolatum-based balm like Aquaphor Ointment or CeraVe Healing Balm. Petrolatum is pretty much the most occlusive (hydration-sealing) moisturizing ingredient you can put on your face. It'll promote healing and act as a temporary skin barrier for the damaged parts of your skin. You don't have to apply it to your whole face; you can put a thin layer just on your dry patches. Make sure your skin is damp before you apply the balm so it can seal in hydration.

I asked about your skincare routine because the dryness might be caused by something you normally use. You might need to stop using whatever that is.
