Best facial product for dry skin

What is the best facial product (lotion or serum) for dry face? Now that the cold weather is approaching, my face (especially above and under my lips are super dry and flaky). Please help!

Re: Best facial product for dry skin

I have the same problem with extreme dryness and flaking above my upper lip and at the corners of my mouth (I've had eczema my entire life). I've found that using a combination of products is the most helpful since there isn't any one product alone that has resolved the flakiness completely. I have a full skin care regimen that includes cleansers, toner, essence, oils, moisturizer, masks, and so forth, but listed below are the products that have had the biggest impact on resolving my dryness and flaking:

Toner: belif Witch Hazel Herbal Extract Toner - I'm a huge fan of this product because it makes my skin feel so moisturized that I'm not immediately running to slather on moisturizer afterwards to avoid that tight, "stripped" feeling after washing my face.

Essence: I've learned that essence is such an important step in my routine because it helps all of my other products absorb exponentially better and I end up using less moisturizer because my skin is taking in everything better. I use Tatcha's Essence Plumping Skin Softener, but you can shop around and see what works for you since this essence doesn't come cheap.

Oilboscia's Tsubaki Beauty Oil - This product is great to apply all over the face, but I apply one drop to my fingertip and I take the time to really massage it directly into the dry parts around my mouth.

Moisturizer: belif's The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb (morning) & Tatcha's The Silk Cream (night) - I have yet to find a moisturizer that I can swear by, but these two products are what I currently use and they do a pretty good job.

Exfoliator: Neogen's Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling (Green Tea) - I use this 2 to 3 times each week depending on how bad my flakiness is and this is my absolute FAVORITE product out of all of the products I use. The exfoliating side is great for removing the flaky skin and the green tea prevents my skin from flaring up from the exfoliation. I NEVER have any dry, flaky patches the day after I use it and my skin feels extremely soft and smooth. It is AMAZING!

RE: Best facial product for dry skin

Have either of you tried Dermalogica? They have been amazing for my skin. They have a dry skin line and an ultracalming line.

I was actually trained with Dermalogica and their International Dermalogical Institute! They have some great products that I swear by! I love their Thermofoliant (age smart line) as a chemical and physical exfoliator and the Ultra Calming line is amazing (Uses dead pollen likea vaccine uses dead virus cells!) My only problem with the brand is it's over use of strong essential oils which can be highly irritating and over stimulating. every brand has their \"holy grail\" items though!

So I have painfully dry and sensitive skin and I'm also a licensed skin care professional. After doing alot of research I've found that some of the best sensitive, full strength moisturizers available at Sephora arethe BELIF Aqua Bomb, FRESH Lotus moisturizer (strong cucumber smell) and the TATCHA moisturizer. These have some great Ingredients and the science to help penetrate. I also do a moisturizing mask every 3-4 days. It helps. I'd suggest carrying your moisturizer around and re-applying throughout the day.
