worst sephora experience ever

today i had the worst customer service at sephora and don’t think i’ll be shipping here anymore and sticking with ulta. i received two foundations frm my gma and mom for my birthday last week. they paid cash and didn’t get a gift receipt, they’re not frm ca and nvr go into a sephora. went into the free standing sephora in the the brea mall ca and was assisted by priscilla, which i use the term assisted very loosely as she was awful to deal with. horrible attitude frm the jump, explained to her the situation and she says i have to exchange only and spend more than what the foundations were worth. about $82, smashbox 24 foundation and clinique 2 in one foundation, had to return both as they broke me out in horrible cystic acne. i tell her no problem and go in search of some items to exchange for, mean while i hear her get on her little earpiece and subsequently have one of her co-workers follow me around the store. when i finally pick out some items and go back to the counter, mind you the items i’m now going to purchase are well over $150, she tell me she can’t return the items. i ask her why not, she snottily tell me it’s up to the stores descretion if they want to return items or not. i asked her my she didn’t tell me thank before i spent 40 mins being followed around the store looking for items to exchange and she just stared at me with her empty, blank stare. i ask to speak with the mgr, she refuses as she will just tell me the same thing, her words not mine. i don’t make a scene as i used to work in retails for a retail store so i simply ask her name and leave. i call sephora corporate who also say they can’t do anything but offer my foundations samples to make up for the convenience. i politely refuse as all i wanted to do was return the gifts i was given by family members. i have nvr been so humiliated in my life and disappointed by the customer service i’ve received before. i used to shop in sephora because i received treatment like this before at mac and now refuse to use any of their products. i’m going to have to do the same for sephora and just stick with shopping at ulta as i have nvr had an issue with them before and their rewards program is one hundred times better that sephora
