why are sample choices even a thing?

The last three orders (at least) have come with ZERO of the three samples I selected at checkout, so why even bother with a choice? Don’t get me wrong, I really wanted THOSE samples, and it does show if some are out of stock, so I’m really not understanding what the issue is. The samples I got instead were opposite of my beauty profile: darkest shade of brow pomade (mine are blonde), medium-dark foundation sample (I’m super pale), and a curly hair treatment (mine is fine and thin). Is there any way to trade those in?

I just received my last order and guess what? I got only two samples(not what I selected of course) and NOTHING for the “beauty offer code”that I selected which was a bag of samples!!Basically that’s the reason why I shop from Sephora because I can try the products before buying the full size. So disappointed!!! 😞

I just went through my order history and samples received, and in 63 orders, I've received 2 of the samples I've ordered, and that's when I got samples. Talk about frustrating! I'd love to be able to sample and review new products, but like you, I rarely get anything I can use.

Same experience for me. I called the 800# they apologized and gave me 100 points in lieu of the missing samples. I knew that this issue must happen alot, cause they didn't do any research to verify my missing items... they just gave me the 100 points no questions asked.

I'll have to start trying harder, I've never gotten points for wrong samples.

I have placed 3 orders and never received any of the sample choices I picked either I got random perfumes that to me I think stink..lol

My last two orders haven't come with a single sample. Even though I chose samples and was REALLY excited about the samples I chose. I got nothing. It's really frustrating. Like don't have me chose samples if you aren't even going to bother putting any samples at all into my box!

same. It's extremely frustrating when i'm trying to get samples of items so i can then buy a full-sized product. I will not buy a full sized product based off of samples i have no interest in (which are what i'm receiving). 

The reason sephora gives us samples is with the hopes that we will love it and buy it. However, their current "here take what we give you", will not boost sales and actually makes customers feel let down and upset.

Please people, stop saying "they don't have to give you samples at all", because if they didn't, their sales would go down. It's a strategy. Test it -> buy it. They get the samples for FREE from companies in order to promote the product. Sephora is not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

I feel the exact same way I hate getting samples of things that are not of interest to me.
