return a gift

I recently received a gift from a friend with the gift receipt but I don’t really have a use for the gift. If I return/exchange the gift in store will my friend see that I have returned the gift or know that it has been returned or exchanged? Thank you in advance.

If you have the gift receipt, I do not believe it will show on their account it has been exchanged. But I may suggest reaching out to your local Sephora store directly for more information. Thank you!
