"Unsuccessful authorization"

I have placed an order for a few items online on Aug. 27th and received an email with my confirmation number. I logged into my Sephora account and I saw that the status of my order says "unsuccessful authorization". Why could this be? I made sure that my billing/shipping addresses and payment information were correct before I even placed the order. If it is not possible to put the order through then I want a refund. Thanks.
