gift card numbers scratched off

I tried to use my gift card today and I accidently scratched off the last two numbers.  The associate tried to help as best she could by scanning it but it didn't work.  She then tried to tell me I was scammed, but after reading some of the forums here, it seems like it's an issue with Sephora's gift card production. 

There has to be a way they can look up the numbers that we still have, with a pin number or barcode as proof.  

It's so frustrating.

This is correct. I’m going through the same issue. The last three numbers on my gift card are missing as well and we were not scam. This was purchased from a store, but my fiancé no longer has the receipt for my Mother’s Day gift, and Sephora said basically oh well too bad.. their scanner isn’t working either. Somehow this is my fault? Will never buy or request a GC from them again!!!!!

If the last two digits of your gift card number (not pin number) were scratched off, I may be able to look into it for you. However, it looks like your private messages are turned off.
