Why are the stores so loud???

Hello,

On 3 separate recent visits to 3 different stores in London area, the overhead music in store has been intolerably loud.  So much so, that I had to turn around and walk out on occasion.  Even when I was wearing 36db noise cancelling ear buds, it was still overpowering that and then staff got frustrated because i couldn't hear them.

Completely unnecessary and excessive (especially at 10 am!!), and inconsiderate of many types of customers, including those with migraine triggers, or sensitive to sound or neurodivergent, as well as for us slightly older folks just looking to enjoy some time away from home and see pretty things.

I am not saying get rid of the overhead music completely, just a little less "Saturday night at the Club" please and thanks.

Oh I did...and was told it was mandated by head office, which is why I posted here.
