What if Sephora sold me expired and spoiled item?

I bought a serum from Sephora for brand innbeauty and I used the second day after I bought, the serum is brown which should be green color and I didn’t know that and got a bad allergy. I went to the store, address is 630 Old Country Rd, Garden City, NY 11530 and the manager is RUDE! She said “We are only a third party, if you have something want to say, go talk to the brand.” Is that how Sephora works and treat the customer like this? Or it’s because sophora has so many customers and they never check their inventory if anything expired. They don’t care if anyone bought the expired or spoiled items because they can say they just a third party so they don’t need to do anything just earn our money.
