What happened to my gift card balance?

I received a gift card for Christmas and used part of the balance in January. It showed on my account online that I had a balance of about 35$ left. I went back today (July) to use the rest of the balance and it disappeared. I have no idea what to do as I threw out the physical card since the account was showing my balance and it was saved there. Anyone experience this? help!

The Sephora website and app do not currently have a space to store gift cards for future use. At this time, only credit/debit cards can be saved to your account. I'm happy to see if we're able to assist further and I'll send you a message.
