What does '3 Free Samples with any Purchase' mean?

Because this is the fourth purchase in a row where I didn't get a single sample. 

I'm starting to think I don't understand the concept.

Or, at least, someone doesn't.

Thank you sobeautiful for your encouraging comment! I know Yves Rocher, I'm a fan of them! They are really good at customer service on the phone, online, and even in the stores, right? I've bought from them since I was a child, so much fun all the samples! 

I made a list and I'm taking it to the store after Xmas of all my samples I missed. I really wanted to try before I buy them. You are right, I'm not greedy, I'm making sure my skin likes these things! ^_^

Thank you for replying! I appreciate your time. I can see from other posts that this is a rampant problem, not an errant mistake. Many of us buy from samples and even wrong ones entice us! But losing out altogether is a letdown and a breakdown of a contract, at that. 

I did write Customer Service and received some points, which is nice--I'll get 3 nice beauty rewards. Regardless, I hope Sephora addresses this issue! It's been going on for some time.
