WARNING: DO NOT BUY SEPHORA GIFTCARDS

I was given a gift card in June 2019. I decided that I wanted to use it today, December 2, 2020. We all know for a fact that Sephora's gift cards DO NOT expire however, when I went to redeem the code online it said that it had $0! There's supposed to be $50 in it because I NEVER USED it!

Long story short, I was passed back and forth between Sephora's Customer Service line and the GiftCard manufacturer. Sephora's Customer Service told me that it was used IN-STORE on October 2020 in an Alberta mall. I LIVE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA! I've been quarantining since March 2020! That's physically impossible! (I did not provide anyone any information about my gift card, it's been living in my wallet since 2019)

Moral of the story, Sephora's gift cards are a HUGE JOKE AND A SCAM. They literally won't help you in any way. I wasted literally 5 hours of my day trying to solve this and talking to multiple customer service personnel. Once they get your money they don't care about you anymore - that's just the fact. This experience definitely made me look at Sephora in a very negative way.

Please be aware, especially this holiday time, when you're buying your gift cards for your loved ones. DO NOT BUY SEPHORA GIFT CARDS!

Re: WARNING: DO NOT BUY SEPHORA GIFTCARDS

Proof of Communication:

Before calling Sephora, I chatted with a representative first. These were her 2 replies regarding who used my card.

Second Story:

Third Story:

During the call with a representative, they then concluded to me that it was used IN-STORE in Alberta (Again, like I said, I have the physical card with me in BC).

Their stories are very inconsistent which makes me think that they’re making these up. I don’t know which story to trust anymore.

Hi @Clarissansndrs,

I am sorry to hear this. I will send you a private message so I can look into this for you. Thanks!

Best Wishes,

Janean
