Very disappointed how Sephora handles gift cards

I lost $200 on a gift card that came right out of the plastic wrap and saw the new cards being placed on the stands at a local Walmart. I bought one and it showed a balance of $200. I even went on my sephora app and saw the balance there, I waited for the product that I was waiting for to launch and went to use my gift card and the balance was then 0. I called customer service who advised me to call my credit card company which I did but because my card information was stolen to purchase and fraud from the gift card itself they couldn't help. I called sephora again who advised me to gi to the store it was purchased which I did and because my receipt showed it was activated with the $200 and not a glitch and not fraud from their end as i bought it before they had any time to sit on the shelf, they could guarantee that no one had tampered with them. I called sephora again who says there is nothing they can do to help me.. however, I got some insider information that they will look at each card issue on a case by case basis but yet they won't help me! I've been not only a Rouge but a loyal sephora customer for over 10 years and I feel like I am being treated like some loser calling and trying to be dishonest. This was my money that was taken from me and sephora needs to take some accountability for this issue. I understand it's apparently a big issue, gift card fraud but why sell gift cards if it's that bad???? Please, i just want to be treated like a valued customer and I want my money back on my gift card, that's all I'm asking for.

@TheMACIsBack, I'm sorry to hear this! It looks like your private messages are turned off, and you can adjust your preferences in your Community settings (on the browser only, not the app). If you would like to send me a private message with more information, I'll look into this.

@TheMACIsBack, my apologies, I received your message but I'm unable to respond, as your messages are not enabled on your side. Please use the desktop browser or mobile browser (not the app). Please navigate to the Community (https://community.sephora.com/) and look for the gear/settings icon. You will have the option to adjust private message settings.

I'm all set, figured out the setting thing and we should be able to communicate now
