Unused gift card shows $0

As I was in my local Sephora today I went on my app to check the balance of my unused gift card and it showed $25. No more than 20 minutes later I go to the register and it shows $0. I called the number on the back of the card and explained the situation and how I believed I was scammed and basically said sorry we’re not going to help you. I’ve been a customer for years and this has really made me consider not shopping here. There are multiple news outlets reporting issues such as this and Sephora is not willing to help their customers who are being scammed.
