Unsuccessful authorization order

Hello,

 

I just placed an order and paid with my PayPal funds. The money was taken and the order status says "unsuccessful authorization". The order was apparently cancelled but the money has not been transferred back to my account. This seems to happen every time I place an order with Sephora.  Please help!

So this happened to me a few days ago! I was so frustrated as it was Christmas and I’m sitting worrying that my account got hacked or something. Here’s what happened and I’m still furious of how it was handled. So I emailed CS and they to me to call in because my account needs verification, so I thought, WTH?? I’ve been using the same account, same address and same, pretty much, I did not change anything with my account, so that worried me more as I thought, for sure myaccount got hacked!!! So I called into CS and they told me my account is perfect and no need for any verification, it’s a glitched in the system and it sometimes cancels the order. I thought, alright, this happens when you use online anything and is relieved my account was not hacked. Then I asked if the CS rep to add the two lipstick color to my cart because ATB has such a huge range of colors that it’s going to take me forever to find it again. Here is what is upsetting...... they told me the two lipstick I got is OOS!!! OMG, seriously?!! They are limited edition shades so I will NEVER be able to get them. So I went through all of that (hence) I was not notified or anything, I was just tracking several different orders and came across unsuccessful authorization for the lipstick order. I was not offered anything other then 100 points, which I don’t think I got. So I emailed back the person that told me to call in and she offered me $10. Seriously?!! So after that wholeexperience and getting beat around the bush, putting pieces together, my items is just permanently OOS! So most likely that’s what happened to your order. Yup, instead of emailing me to tell me it OOS, they just cancelled my order and says it’s unsuccessful authorization. To me that is terrible business practice and I used to Always tell everyone that Sephora has the best Customer service but after this incident and how I was passed around to different Reps, not too much good CS in my books. It’s like yeah..... 100 points that I didn’t get and $10??? I just want those lipsticks as I’m a collector! Hope that helps everyone who is confused of why that happened to their orders. It’s probably just OOS, nothing wrong with your account, nothing wrong with your banking/credit cards. @Reem011

Old thread, but instead of PMing the solution can't you people just post here so everyone who is facing the same issue gets to know what's happening?

 

My money is also stuck for 5 days. When the hell would I get my refund back?

I keep having this same problem! I've emailed customer service several times and never get an actual answer or help. 😞

I'm also having this issue with unsuccessful authorization. I have a gift card so i'm assuming i'm screwed over.

Thank you for your reply. It would be nice if you could terminate the order completely so I can get the money Back on my PayPal account. It tells me that it is still waiting on an authorization from Sephora. Please refund the money! It's a lot of money that I would like to have back!
