Re: Unsuccessful Authorization

Hi @Anonymous,

This post has been moved to Customer Support. I'll take a look further and I'll send you a message shortly.

Best,

@Anonymous

Unsuccessful Authorization has nothing to do with your payment being correct or incorrect; Sephora has cancelled the order for another reason after the fact. Unfortunately, front-line CS doesn't really know how to handle it and you'll need to escalate the problem to a supervisor.

UA is a block on your account, and every order you place will be cancelled until Sephora removes it. Did you have four orders outstanding at one time? That's a possible culprit...Sephora deems anything over 3 to be "suspicious". They also won't fulfill orders that are sent to forwarding services, nor are they friendly to US/Canada orders paid for with foreign credit cards. There are multiple reasons for cancellation covered by the UA umbrella, so I can't tell you for sure why you've been hit with it, but I can tell you from personal experience that you will not be able to place any order, with any method of payment, even a gift card, until Sephora removes the block.

RE: Re: Unsuccessful Authorization

@RGbrown I’ve been dealing with Sephora for months due to UA. When I talked to them the first time, they told me it was because I had too many addresses in my shipping address history (only had 5, bc I send gifts and I also ship to my workplace due to theft) and that my credit card payment was in a different name (my husband lets me use his credit cardsometimes to get credit card points). After an hour long discussion with the supervisor, I asked him to unlink me with other accounts that they said mines was linked to for some reason and had him confirm that if Iuse everything in my name that everything will be fine moving forward. 5 months later, I keep getting UA on all my purchases. Were you able to successfully remove the UA from your account?

@DuckE806

Mine occured over three years ago, and yes, I was successful at getting it fixed. In all honesty, I think I just lucked into getting the right person to see it, because I didn't have to fight nearly as hard as I've seen other folks report.

I took care of mine via email, and while it seemed like eternity at the time, with numerous back-and-forth messages, I had my account back within a few days.
