Unsuccessful Authorization

Hello,

Yesterday I placed my very first order with Sephora online and received an order confirmation email, but when I went to check the order status, it said that Unsuccessful Authorization and all of the items in my basket had been cancelled. I tried to place the order again and everything seemed to go through and my order status was at Placed when I last checked it. I just went to check it today and now this order says Unsuccessful Authorization and cancelled my items. What does Unsuccessful Authorization mean? I entered in all of my information carefully and I checked it at least 3 times to make sure everything was correct, so I would like to know what else I could possibly be doing wrong to cause this error so that I may be able to fix it.
