USPS "lost" my package

Not even sure if this is the right group to post this in, but ordered merchandise on February 23, 2018 - showed it shipped on February 25, 2018. USPS never showed anything, not even the package leaving. Spoke with a customer service rep today who said looks like USPS lost my package and now my deluxe sample (which I purchased the stuff to get) is now out of stock. Has this happened to anyone else? I mean I got a refund but this is beyond annoying. Does Sephora typically lose packages? Because to me it never looks like the postal service received it (it's been in pre-shipment since the 26th). This, along with never receiving samples with my orders is making me lose faith in Sephora. Anyone else having issues like this?
