Thousands of points all gone

I don’t understand how Sephora can justify penalizing their customers by wiping away all their hard earned points just because they didn’t make a purchase in 12 months. I was a VIB for several years in a row and I had more than 3,000 points saved up (meaning I’ve spent more than $3000 at sephora just by looking at unused points - probably have spent closer to $5000 or $6000 in total). I have gone through some health problems in the past year or so, and was feeling in good spirits and ready to treat myself with a sephora order today, logged on to see that now I have nothing to show for the years and many thousands of dollars that I’ve spent exclusively shopping at Sephora for beauty needs. I am incredibly disappointed by this policy.
