Store credit

No one ever assisted me with my store credit. I contacted Sephora via email a few weeks ago and asked how I can use my store credit online.. I can't get to a store. I need a way to use the store credit online. And it doesn't make sense why we can use the card for online purchases. I had my receipt during my return but I was still issue store credit... please explain to me why this is so...

I purchased products online but had to return them in store today which was within 30 day return with the receipt. However when I came home to order products online, I learned that the store credit they issued me is not acceptable on sephora.com! This is ridiculous as the products I’m trying to order were not even available in store. Also why did they issue me the store credit when I returned the products within 30 days with the original receipt??!? I don’t have time to go back to the store - and the products are not even available there. This is ridiculous!!

@milalala Something like this happened to me recently.  I contacted CS and the mod was kind and sd she'd pass along the info to the correct department.

If you had a receipt but got a store credit, what happened to me might have happened to you.  You see, I thought Sephora's store policy was indefinite as it had been for years.  Apparently, it was changed to 60 days about a year ago.  So, if you have your receipt but it says 60 days on the back, then they are holding to that; after 60 days I was told the receipt becomes invalid and you get a store credit.  

Under the old way, I did have a receipt once that was legit and it was still an indefinite return policy but I got a store credit.  I contacted Sephora and they offered to cash it out to me.

I understand being frustrated about how the store credits can only be used in-store; to reiterate, the Mod sd she'd pass my concern on.  I live close to a Sephora so it's no big deal for me to use a credit in-store, although my preference is to shop online.  In your case, I wonder if you asked them nicely to convert it to a gift card if they would do that for you.  I had amassed store credits at Ulta over the years and they were kind enough to convert them to one gift card so I could use it online.
