Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

I placed an order online today, thinking that Sephora would have switched to different couriers.  But no… just received a Canada Post tracking number.  WTF Sephora the Canada Post strike has been going on for 10 days now. Why are you still using them for shipping?

Order #643014004710  I actually have 4 orders sitting in the warehouse waiting for Canada Post .  I am beyond frustrated, I ordered after the strike started assuming Sephora would ship via another courier like everyone else is doing.  No everything still sitting at the warehouse since November.  I tried to chat with someone and they actually discontinued the chat with me, so unprofessional and rude.  There was not indication or alert when I ordered that the items would not be shipped until the strike was over.  I have $600 tied up in orders, Sephora needs to get it together and ship all these items that are sitting in their warehouse.

Sorry to say, but this kind of cookie cutter response just doesn't work... Is Sephora going to do anything to rectify stuck orders??

Hi @keelybt ! 

What options are being given to people with order shipped through Canada Post? Everywhere else I’ve ordered from has shipped through Purolator or UPS. I’d have even been fine having it shipped to the store for pickup. It could be months before CP delivers, and that’s really not acceptable. I think it’s safe to say people’s orders are still sitting at the warehouse since there’s nobody to come pick them up, so what is Sephora doing to rectify this?

Every other company in Canada that was using Canada Post has pivoted and are now using FedEx, UPS or Purolator. Obviously Sephora is a dinosaur that can’t keep up. RIDICULOUS!

This is not something that can be explained away by "oh, they are just dinosaurs". This is a fiscal decision where Sephora calculates that their annoyed Canadian customers don't impact their 3+ billion in sales in any significant way. Maybe a few will be falling by the wayside but the majority will probably keep coming back 'anyhoo', despite the currently subpar experience where we are actually treated with utter disdain. I, for 1, am taking note. 🇨🇦

@keelybt Unfortunately at this time Canada Post is not the best option for anyone living in Canada.  Sephora has had ample time to get this sorted out, and hasn’t.  That is poor customer service.  I don’t live in a rural area and am not using a P.O. Box.  In my mind there is no excuse to continue shipping packages out using Canada Post while fully knowing there is a strike happening.  And then to turn around and say “thank you for our understanding” as if Sephora has absolutely no other options!?! Just ridiculous!

The same thing happened to me ! They knew the strike was coming yet they shipped it out the day before they went on strike ! It’s just ridiculous and poor customer service ! We paid for those items and yet we’re not receiving it ! Worse customer service I ever experienced with any company.

I tried live chat and the person kept telling me they were sorry for the situation but there was nothing they could do. And then they ended the chat Dino could not reply any longer!! Absolutely unacceptable.

Same situation here! They shipped mine via Canada post way after the strike started, I live in a house in an urban area and get deliveries from fed ex, purolator, canpar, ups and dhl almost daily and they shipped it via Canada post anyways.   When I reached out they gave a bunch of generic messages with excuses about PO Boxes and rural locations that don’t apply and then disconnected the chat not once but 3 times! Absolutely criminal!

I also encountered the same situation.  Just because they created a shipping label doesn't mean it left the warehouse which when I checked the status of my order it says label created awaiting pick up.  I asked to have it shipped to the store instead and was told that was not a possibility either.  I also ordered after the strike started and figured that they would use a different carrier.  Called and was told that sometimes it's only Canada Post that delivers to certain areas.  I told them I was in an area that received delivers from all other carriers and then I was told that depending which distribution center it was coming from.  I would doubt they have distribution centers where the only method of shipping is Canada Post.  The store is still receiving product via other carriers.  I think they should maybe check their policies.  My daughter is very upset as her Advent Calendar is in the order!!!!
