Sephora temporary credit card not working

I opened a Sephora credit card last night as the promotion said the temporary card can be used right away. I wanted to avail the one day discount going on for Sunday Riley along with some other products I had been meaning to buy. I have been trying to place the order for a few hours now and keep getting the error that "we cannot accept your temporary credit card with Sephora for this purchase. Please change your payment method."

I mean wth!! I have also called the credit card helpline a few times in the last couple of hours and every time all I hear is that their system is undergoing some issue and they can't look up my account. What the hell kind of scam is this??

From the historical posts this is clearly not a one time thing and quite a frequent issue. Sephora states clearly that the temporary card right away which clearly isn't the case. This is terrible service and I'm seriously considering boycotting Sephora for conducting such fraudulent practices. What a waste of hard pull for this stupid card!

I have had the same exact issues. I recently just registered for a card with the purpose of using it that day and I had to wait over two weeks until it came into the mail to use it. I’m so done with Sephora. Ulta has way better deals, coupons, and customer service.

I'm so sorry to hear about this! Comenity recently had a system update and it looks like their phone lines are not fully up and running at the moment. I recommend reaching out to them via phone at a later time so that this can be looked into further or waiting for your physical card to arrive in the mail. I'm truly sorry for this experience!

@DaneeBT I have been on calls with them the entire day! Being told one excuse after the other.

Just now, one of their supervisors actually told me that all is fine on their end and there is nothing wrong with my account. It is SEPHORA that's not accepting the card!!!!
