Sephora's 60-day return policy

I had two return two lipsticks to Sephora today, and was shocked to learn that the return policy had changed from one that was lenient and was once billed as "the best return policy in the business" to only 60-days.  The SA said this happened about a year ago, which shows you how often I return items since I was unaware.  I understand why Sephora wished to change the policy, but is there a way to make it more palpable?  

I personally would suggest a minimum of 90 or 180 days.  Or, perhaps Rouge members could have a more generous window since it is billed as being the Top Tier.  Finally, if neither one of these can be done, is it at all possible to make the in-store credits able to be applied to online purchases?
