I have learned that Sephora has chosen to cancel a beauty influencer Amanda Ensing (and who knows who else by now) for being conservative. I’m not a conservative, but I stand with the freedom of speech and democracy and keeping businesses out of this political communist agenda I am seeing on so many levels, hiding it under this virtuous blanketed narrative. I’ll not be spending any of my money at your stores, and I’ll be sure my friends and family won’t be either.
Cancel culture, Sephora, really? Your board and marketing leaders should take a look at the 'pro-human' movement. It is the REAL inclusivity, not the type that doesn't include SOME people. Isn't that terribly hypocritical to say you're inclusive and then EXCLUDE some people? How can you justify it to yourselves. People must vote with their shopping $. #sephoracancelculture #sephoraexclusionisNOTbeautiful
Yo, what's up with Sephora canceling conservatives? It's a bit late to reply, but it isn't stopped even now. That's not cool, man. Discrimination is not something to mess around with. It's like playing with fire, you're gonna get burned. It's not right and it's against the law. Sephora needs to get their act together and stop cancelling people just because they have different political beliefs. I found a lot of materials on this point here https://samploon.com/free-essays/discrimination/ , so interesting info. That's not what America is about. We're supposed to be a melting pot of different cultures and ideas. Sephora, don't be a hater, be an innovator.
I too recently saw this and I will have to take my business elsewhere. Sorry Sephora. Make better choices. #boycottsephora
If your going to claim inclusivity you better walk the walk not just talk the talk
Agree. I have been a loyal Sephora customer for years. I am actually really sad that they took this stance. Because now I feel like I need to take a stance as well. Sephora, I will miss shopping with you, but I won’t continue to give my money to any company that promotes this cancel culture. This is not healthy for our country, it is not kind or tolerant.
Discrimination, no matter the demographic you’re targeting, is absolutely wrong. We are supposed to be kind and supportive of ALL people… regardless of demographic, regardless of skin color or gender identity or sexuality or religion .... APPARENTLY this does NOT apply to conservatives. That’s not OK. Discrimination and cancel culture is not OK.
I cannot support a company that is going to target a demographic.
Amanda just clarified in her Instagram post today that her tweet about "popcorn" was done before the capitol riots even started. She even clarified in that tweet that she never condoned violence and did not know that the coup would be happening. This makes sense. Check it out if u want to hear her side. Most of the people are spreading lies accusing her of supporting the riots. Do you see the witch hunt happening? She was never gleeful about it but the trolls are twisting the narrative to make her look bad!
Trolls are good at tearing people down not building them up. They are anti-human and truth or fairness does not enter into the equation. They are driven by their own sadistic impulses.
It's so strange to me that so many people here would somehow think that a company like Sephora (diversity, inclusiveness, all that) would support someone who was openly in favour of the terrorist attacks on the US capital. Somehow that's 'discrimination'? She cheered on the gun-violence that went on that day, and that wasn't supposed to affect her career? No one wants to be involved with a person like that professionally, or personally, I would hope, regardless of their political views.
Also, I would like to point out that freedom of speech protects one from government/legal action, not from consequences in their professional career or personal life. There is no violation of freedom here, immoral actions (encouraging violence, particularly violence caused by an extremist group with ties to white supremacy) have personal and professional consequences.
1- The discrimination was NOT based on the Capital incident, but because of her racial, religious and cultural identity. Either you are against DISCRIMINATION or not... picking and choosing by Demographic is the very definition of discrimination (and hypocrisy)
2- the “insurrection” was organized by John Sullivan (of Insurrection USA, a leftist activist) and Jane Slacker (a registered Democrat) and they were PAID by CNN. There is ample proof (via livestream video) that, under the direction of Nancy Pilosi (refer to her internal memos), the Capital Police opened the barriers, unlocked the doors, and led people in. This event was politically driven to silence any discussion of Election Integrity.
If you are going to make an argument, please ensure you are not providing partisan partial and inaccurate information.
Your either brainwashed by watching CNN which spreads lies and division or you making up stories or running with what you were told instead of finding out on your own. The beauty influencer wasn't doing any of those things you said! Stop telling untruths and calling all Republicans white supremacists! We come in all colors and races and we are not the party of hate and division, that's what the Democrats do, Stop it.
That's a LIE that this person was supporting a terroristic act. If anyone said that about a lefty they would be banned and deleted even if it were true. Hurting people, like you are doing, is not my idea of unity. You've been told to hate for four years and now you just can't stop. You and Sephora are bigots.
I pray Karma doesn't pay you a visit for all your vile hate for others who mean you no harm. 🙏
I agree. I also won't give money to any company that goes against personal freedoms. I will no longer shop at any Sephora stores.
My daughter shops here all the time she just started getting me hooked on the stuff it’s way too expensive anyway I was spending too much money now there’s no incentive for me to shop here! They don’t want conservatives I’ll just go back to Walmart nothing special here for me they don’t want my money I don’t want them!
We all need to hit them were it hurts.....Right in their bank accounts. They think they were making a statement by cutting Amanda Ensing loose. Well, our statement of spending our money elsewhere will hurt them a lot more than they can hurt us. Together we stand STRONG!!! Amanda Ensing will now be more popular than ever. WE THE PEOPLE HAVE HER BACK.
I have also been a Rouge member for years and just went through the shopping bag I was accumulating and ordered the items directly from the brands. I'm not going to support a company that discriminates against half of the country.
Well, Sephora, you've just saved me thousands of dollars. I spend way too much when I shop in your store or online. The selection is amazing and I've discovered so many wonderful products and brands that I'd never have tried otherwise. Say goodbye to another Rouge Conservative.
Sephora has lost our friends and family. Shame on you joining cancel culture and breaking ties with those of free thought. You will pay for your censorship. Our large chat group has just cancelled buying your sephora products. Shame on you Sephora
I have accumulated over 17,000 Beauty Insider points at Sephora and have been a Rouge level member for 5 years. How can I in good conscience spend another dime in this store? What are they going to do with my points when they discover I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020? How dare they draw a line in the sand to see face cream. Shame on all of the executives at the Sephora corporation who sat around a massive conference room table and twirled their mustaches while throwing a dart at a board to decide who to cancel. You (and everyone else in the left-driven world) need to remember that Trump did receive just shy of HALF the country's votes so tread lightly when you decide to talk crap about his campaign and followers.
I agree 100%. I’ve been Rouge for years. This Cancel Culture needs to stop NOW!!
I’ve been a Sephora fan forever. I’ve spent untold money here. But dropping an influencer because she voted for Trump is enough to make me end my Sephora account. HALF the country voted for Trump. This is insanity
