Sephora in-store events

Was extremely disappointed with Sephora regarding the Glow Receipe event in Oakridge Mall.  As posted on the app the event was scheduled to start at 11am on Sunday 7/14.  When I arrived there were no promotions and when I asked an employee at the store she said that she did not hear anything about this event.  I am disappointed that the Sephora event app was misleading.  Has anyone encountered this issue?
