Sephora in kohls

I was purchasing in sephora. Employee signed me up for kohls rewards ( I wasn’t asked if I wanted them). She literally asked me to type my phone # on the pin pad I did she went oh that didn’t work here type in your email I did. Thinking It was potentially a different way to do my insider rewards it wasn’t until I didn’t get any points for the purchase and later when I had service on my phone e again did I see the kohls verification. So basically I’m just not supposed to get my Sephora pts?? I get there probably an incentive to get kohls cards but now I’m actually quite mad I didn’t want kohls points j wanted Sephora which is why I was there. She even asked my bday I assumed it was for my bday gift as it’s this month…. Didn’t get that either.
