Sephora iOS app - inbox/notification icon

I’m really confused. I have an iPhone 7 - app and iOS is up to date. My imbox area on the left side of the app says 53 however when I go to open it, there’s nothing there. I do receive notifications from you all (ones that pop up and notify me outside of the app when something special is going on). I’d really love to know what’s in these 53 notifications and why I can’t read them.

It seems there may be a small glitch in the app. I will be forwarding your feedback to the appropriate team for them to look into.  They will use this information to hopefully make a fix with a future update. In the meantime, I recommend removing the app from your phone and redownloading it from your app store.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I used to get mail in my Sephora app inbox on a nearly daily basis. I have received not a single thing since the "find your perfect lip" one a few weeks ago. The rest of the app works, and I receive emails to my contact email account, but miss the updates in the app. Do you know what has happened?
