Sephora has no ethics

On March 2,2020 a 79 year old woman who lives in my area was coerced and manipulated into purchasing $6000 of Sephora gift cards as an over the phone scam. Her family and the police contacted Sephora to ask them to stop the online shipments for products purchased with the fraudulent gift cards. Although Sephora could see the online purchases they refused to hold or stop the shipments. Sephora’s policy online “11. fraud. Sephora reserves the right to refuse to honor a card where Sephora suspects that the card was obtained fraudulently.” It appears Sephora doesn’t apply this policy even with police involvement. Sephora- you had the opportunity to take action against a crime and you did nothing. I guess the thousands in sales you received that day was more important? This is getting traction in my community and everyone is talking about it. You can cancel my card- I will never shop with a company that allows our children or seniors to be taken advantage of. Explain yourself Sephora. This is going to blow up social media.

I just received another blow off response telling me they are happy to look into this if I email them. Well you haven’t been doing anything for the parties that this effected even with police and your head office involvement so what would be the point in ME reaching out (as I’m not the party involved). Also, i was told in a private message group by a journalist that THEY HAVE reached out to your customer service and head office and is getting no where and you are giving them the run around. Contact the RCMP (Canadian Police) and fix this for them- you have been given the police incident report number AND their bank has also reached out and you’ve done nothing.

Sephora private messaged me a response which was a blow-off response. Also I have come to find out there are many seniors in my area that have been taken by scammers and Sephora is refusing to help them. One lady is out 16k! All Sephora has to do is cancel the orders so the money can be returned and they are refusing to do so even with police intervention. They would rather keep the fraudulent money and harm senior citizens.
