Sephora gift card issue with apple wallet

I recently had issues with my e-giftcard at Sephora. A couple of weeks ago I received a giftcard for $50. I verified the card and decided to add it to my apple wallet. However, once I added it to my apple wallet it went straight to zero. I never used this giftcard so it was extremely odd when this happened.  I was wondering if anyone went through the same thing and what I can do to get it back. I am honestly disappointed and upset because this never helped before.
