Sephora Promo

I just received an email saying that an item in my cart was now out of stock and removed from my order moments before the "your order has shipped" email. Of course, it was the deluxe sample I added with the provided promo code. Given this occurrence, I believe Sephora should contact the customer directly and ask if they would like a substitution, rather than removing the promo entirely after my order was placed. I would like a replacement for this promo as if I were aware it was out of stock prior to (like I should have been) I would have chosen another deluxe sample before placing my order. Minor, but I spend too much at Sephora to not receive the only perks of being a loyal customer.
