Sephora Gift Cards are a JOKE

First of all Sephora gift cards feel so cheap it's cardboard that bends and warps super easily. Secondly, it is ridiculously easy to scratch off the back numbers - somehow I managed to not only scratch off the card number but also the pin! I have never had any problems with any other cards. On top of that, they can't scan the bar code, they can't swipe the card, and their customer support is a complete joke, telling me they "treat gift cards like cash" and can't do anything about it. 

I'm certainly not the first nor the last person to have this issue, and if peeling off the numbers by mistake is such a common issue, and bringing it instore to swipe also doesn't work, then HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE BACKUP IN CASE? I am astounded by the poor design choice and how little Sephora cares about their customers have wasted their money on giftcards that DON'T WORK.
